“Recently I have done a three day work experience placement at Whitestone Surgery, where I was able to gain a further insight into all of the aspects associated with a general practice. The experience was extremely useful in allowing me to do so, as I was able to experience all of the different roles within the doctor’s surgery. These included watching consultations with Dr Simon, working with the practice nurse and also the physiotherapist. By doing so, I was able to see how all of the roles within the surgery linked to one another, in order to maximise efficiency within the practice. By doing this placement, I have been able to see the different careers associated with primary health care, and it has also allowed me to make a more informed career choice once I have finished sixth form. I would strongly recommend a work experience placement at Whitestone Surgery, to anybody who has the desire to study medicine in the future”
