Laura Basset England football star and Marcus Jones local MP joined forces with Whitestone Surgery when it opened its doors to the local Community.
Key theme for the event was `Keeping Health in Mind`
Demonstrating how this could be achieved Partners and organisations illustrated through fun packed activities the foundation of wellbeing. Games, posters, questions and quizzes all helped to encourage a greater understanding of the `ingredients` required for `keeping health in mind`

Tombola, bouncy castle and face painting provided the fun side of the event as well as raising funds for the well-deserved charities of Alzheimer’s and the local Guideposts.
Guests Laura Basset and Marcus Jones were amazed by the TEAM spirit of Whitestone Surgery and praised the development of the Silver Surfers, Job Club and Carers Café. Di Kent Chair of Whitestone Patient Participation Group said “whilst we have seen these projects develop from their very embryonic stages we are constantly looking for even more innovative ways to mobilise community involvement to tackle chronic health related issues” she added “if anyone has time to spare and is keen to become involved please contact us.”
Whitestone Surgery continues to look for ways of creating and developing services for its patients and will over the forthcoming months be looking at ways of improving GP access for a wider catchment population.
