It’s flu vaccine time again…….

Flu vaccinations are available at the surgery from 21st September 2016. We are running open flu clinics, which means no appointment necessary. You can drop in at any time during the dates listed below. Please note that queue times may vary due to this. Alternatively, if these sessions are not convenient you can call reception to book an appointment.

A reminder that anyone 65 and over or with any long-term health problems are eligible for FREE flu vaccinations on the NHS. This includes:

  • all asthmatics taking a steroid inhaler
  • diabetics, heart, kidney or lung disease
  • having cancer treatment
  • had a stroke
  • carers
  • any stage of pregnancy

CHILDREN’S NASAL SPRAY seasonal flu vaccinations now available. Please contact the surgery to book your appointment. Please ensure your contact details are kept up-to-date. We have limited supplies so book early to avoid disappointment. Please ignore if you have already booked your appointment.

SHINGLES VACCINATION NOW AVAILABLE. Please contact the surgery to book your appointment or come along to our open flu clinics.

The national shingles immunisation programme is recommended for people 70-79, but is being introduced in phases. Are you aged 70, 71, 72,73, 78 or 79 on 1st September 2016? If so you may be eligible.

You must be vaccinated before your 80th birthday; after this you will no longer be eligible.
You must be born on or between:

  • 2nd Sept 1942 to 1st Sept 1946 – Age range 70,71,72,73
  • 2nd Sept 1936 to 1st Sept 1938 – Age range 78 or 79
  • 74 to 77 year olds no eligible at the moment
  • 69 years and under and 80 year olds and over not eligible.
