  • Ante-natal and post-natal care

    Whitestone Surgery is one of the few GP surgeries which offer an in-house midwifery service for expectant mothers. Our midwife, Carole Hemmings, provides ante- and post-natal care. She was featured on the BBC3 documentary Misbehaving Mums To Be.

  • Asthma care

    Our chronic disease management is of the highest quality. As part of our Annual Health MOT, we produce a care plan with our asthmatic patients, proven to improve symptom control. We provide advice on how best to manage your condition, understand new medication and improve inhaler technique. Our surveys show that our patients are better able to self-manage asthma, seek advice, improve their quality of life, reduce complications and prevent hospital admissions.

  • Blood Tests

    A phlebotomy service is available at the surgery on Monday mornings between 10-11am, appointment to be made via the reception staff. Special sessions are reserved for our patients who require a blood test before their Annual Health MOT.

  • Cervical Smears

    A confidential, discreet cervical smear service is offered during our nurse-led clinics. It is recommended that routine smear tests be carried out on women aged 25-49 every 3 years and women aged 50-64 every 5 years. The invitations are sent out via The National Screening Service.

  • Diabetic Care

  • Family Planning Services

    A confidential, discreet service is offered during our GP and nurse-led clinics. We offer general advice about contraception services and annual coil checks. For more information click here.

  • Flu Vaccination Clinic

    The flu vaccination is given free on the NHS as an annual injection to:

    • adults over the age of 18 at risk of flu with an underlying health condition (including everyone over 65)
    • children aged six months to two years at risk of flu with an underlying health condition such as long term heart or respiratory disease
    • pregnant woman any stage of pregnancy

    The flu vaccine is also offered as a nasal spray annually to children aged 2-18 years at risk of flu with an underlying long term condition and also to healthy children aged 2-4 years. For more information click here.

  • Infant, Childhood and Teenage Vaccinations

    These are routine vaccinations that are offered free of charge on the NHS to all babies and children in the UK. Childhood vaccination appointments are available daily; please speak to reception for appointments.

  • Minor Operations

    Dr Simon is a member of The Royal College of Surgeons. Whitestone surgery carries out a variety of minor surgical procedures such as joint injections, excisions of lumps and bumps, toe nail surgery and cryotherapy. To discuss your needs with the GP please contact reception on 02476 641911

    If you suffer with long-term or chronic pain, then our pain management protocols found in our routine GP & nurse-led clinics, may be of significant value to you. Treatment of pain is often further enhanced by physiotherapy and hypnotherapy. Both these additional services are now available at Whitestone Surgery.   • Physiotherapy

    We are pleased to offer a comprehensive physiotherapy service outside of a hospital setting. Users of the service are grateful it is provided in a community setting with access to free off road parking.

  • Travel Vaccinations

    Planning holistic health when travelling abroad is just as important as arranging your passport or travel insurance. Whether you are travelling for personal or business reasons we provide the international traveler with information and advice regarding your holiday itinerary.

Please telephone the surgery after 10 days to book a telephone consultation with the nurse to advise you of injections that are recommended.
